Con motivo del Día Internacional de la Paz, los alumnos de nuestro centro han participado en el tradicional lipdub, que este año rendía homenaje a la primera circunnavegación de la Tierra, que protagonizó Fernando de Magallanes, y que concluyó con éxito el marino de Guetaria, Juan Sebastián Elcano. La expedición tenía el propósito de abrir una ruta comercial con las islas de las especias por occidente, buscando un paso entre el océano Atlántico y el océano Pacífico.
Estaba formada por cinco naves que partieron de Sanlúcar de Barrameda el 20 de septiembre de 1519. La escuadra, después de haber explorado durante meses el litoral americano al sur de Brasil, logró cruzar el estrecho de Magallanes el 21 de noviembre de 1520. En su travesía por el Pacífico llegó a las islas Filipinas, donde, el 27 de abril de 1521, muere Fernando de Magallanes en la batalla de Mactán.
Los expedicionarios continuaron la navegación hasta las islas Molucas, objetivo de su viaje, donde eligieron a Juan Sebastián Elcano para capitanear el viaje de regreso. Navegando hacia el oeste por el océano Índico y dando la vuelta a África, el 6 de septiembre de 1522 la Victoria, única nave que quedaba en la expedición, retornó a Sanlúcar de Barrameda con su carga de especias, convirtiéndose en la primera embarcación de la historia en dar la vuelta al mundo.
De esta forma, nuestros alumnos han reconstruido los cinco continentes. La armonía y los lazos comunes entre los pueblos ha sido la principal intención de una actividad como la desarrollada durante la mañana del 30 de enero. África, Asia y Oceanía han sido retratados con sus peculiaridades más conocidas, además de unos vikingos y unos dioses del Olimpo muy originales.
Que buena idea habéis tenido recordando esta efemérides. Hecho de crucial importancia muy bien enfocado como lazo y unión de culturas. Ya tengo ganas de verlo, vayan mis felicitaciones anticipadas, enhorabuena.
